This day is yours ~ your theme today is purple
Travel with me as we catch a bus to Café Creative.
We meet at a busy bus terminal with buses arriving and departing. We are in Bay 30, right down the end of the terminal. The bus looks like it has been repurposed for a mystery tour. It is painted in garish purple and climbing on board are a group of people with musical instruments. You wonder whether you are in the right place, so you check your ticket and it says Bay 30, so you climb on board and take your seat.
As soon as the last city buildings are out of sight the musicians stand up, bring out their instruments and begin to play gypsy music, strumming guitars, playing the piano accordion and hand drum. The music is uplifting, you can feel yourself begin to smile at the sheer surprise of being part of a musical serenade.
You are almost too preoccupied to notice the landscape of rolling hills which have row upon row of carefully tended grapevines. Soon too soon, the bus turns into a small vineyard and stops at a carpark outside a vineyard café. The tables are set with checked tablecloths and arranged on a stone paved patio under the grape vine pergola. This vineyard specialises in purple grapes, the café is situated near an outdoor wooden barrel where grapes are being nosily crushed by enthusiastic feet.
There is a festive atmosphere and the sound of more troubadours this time playing the piano accordion and fiddle. People raise their glasses to cheer as the musicians move from table to table. You order a sparkling purple grape juice and feel inspired by the bonhomie of the event.
You are at the Café Creative, a place to activate your creativity.
You sip your drink, bring out your paper, pens and glue-stick and start to transform this moment into a travel memory.
The theme colour is purple – make a purple palette, use the sound of the piano accordion and fiddle as inspiration, the rich luscious colour of the grapes and the sweet smell of crushed grapes for your inspiration.
Your bus departs in just over five minutes so…..
Get inspired, use what you have and finish.
