It is surprising what art you make when you go to a hands on workshop. Collaging with fabric was a new experience for me. My fabric collages started with bushfires and floods and ended up depicting the joy of this Hebridean landscape.

Collage as a daily practice

I’ve written many blogposts about having a daily practice, for experimentation, documentation and accountability. What I now realise is that it is also an important tool for reviewing your own artistic development.

Stitched Collage

I never thought my stitched paper collages would be come my first ever major exhibition at Tweed Regional Gallery in 2011. Now I use hand stitching to collage fragile papers together as I make a paper “Wagga” rug.
