Feet First | 2023

Friends of the Fields, Iffley, UK

In 2023 I lent support to the Friends of the Fields community group in Iffley near Oxford as part of my Urban Residency for my Masters Arts & Place.

Friends of the Fields is fighting to preserve the threatened ‘horse fields’ in the small hamlet of Iffley. It is an ongoing conservation battle to preserve land from Oxford City Council’s planned housing development.development.

We came up with a Feet First campaign to document usage of the path adjacent to the horse fields by chalking around the feet of pedestrians. Over a hundred people walked and cycled the path during a typical Sunday.

I also made a video of the case for preserving the Iffley Fields.
