A grid of Moonah tree ink & cyanotype prints

In September2025, I undertook a two week residency through the & Art Gallery Motel in Tootgarook, Victoria where I explored the endangered coastal Moonah tree (Melaleuca lanceolate) woodlands in the Mornington Peninsula.

The sinuous forms of these trees with their intertwining limbs and branches suggested ink drawings and cyanotype prints. I experimented with gridding up the trees, first projecting the images onto paper squares, drawing the forms with ink and adding cyanotype prints in the centre.

I became more adventurous as I experimented with the images and materials, with some pleasing results. You can read more about this residency in my blogposts.
