Eco-Sublime was the theme for the Biennial International Paper Fibre Art Exhibition 2017/2018 at the National Taiwan Craft and Research Development Institute in Taiwan.
I was invited to make a presentation and paper making workshop about my suite of soundscapes.
This collage features a sonic image created from the sound of water dripping from the paper mould as fibres form to make paper.
Fractal images were created from playing the sound of water dripping from the paper making mould. These were screen printed onto banana paper. Both the sound line and the fractal images are shown here.
A surprise addition to my soundscape collages was diamond shaped trills of birdsong captured when recording the paper making process.
Featuring the visual line of the sibilant sound made when removing paper from the mould after it has dried in the sun.
The installation also included Paper/Song, a video of the sounds and cymatic vibrational images created when playing sound into water.
