Art for Takayna exhibition

LONG GALLERY, SALAMANCA ARTS CENTRE, HOBART 5-21 JUNE 2025.

opening night Thursday 5 June 6pm

I will be heading to Hobart in June for the Art for Takayna exhibition where I will be exhibiting alongside 140 other artists. Many of these artists attended the Art for Takayna artist residency over the Easter weekend in April 2025. Artists were assigned to one of five camps spread thrughout the Takayna wilderness in areas which are threatened by logging and mining activities.

These areas of old growth forest are home to many threatened species of plants and animals. The entire Takayna wilderness needs to be protected and gazetted as a World Heritage site. The Bob Brown Foundation is actively working towards raising people’s awareness of these amazing places and taking action to ensure these places are protected for future generations.

Myrtle Forest Floor 2025. Once of five pieces to be exhibited at the Art for Takayna exhibition which was inspired by my residency in Pruana Forest site in Takayna, Tasmania in April 2025.
