Artist Residency

I was privileged to be the artist in residence for the month of June, 2024 at Oatlands AIRspace in Tasmania.

I used the opportunity to respond to the colonial buildings and the history of this town which played a pivotal role during the Black War against the Tasmanian Aborigines in the 1800s.

Approaching the subject from a post-colonial viewpoint has mean shining a light on the history by using the landscape motifs as portals for the hard conversations we need to have as a nation.
