This week time was warped. Moving between time zones creates a feeling of instability, as if time has shifted. Jetlag is a modern phenomenon caused by this fast moving through the longitudinal zones, somewhere we lose a day or gain it, lose a night and gain two mornings.
So I lost Sunday. I forgot it was time to do my Sunday blogpost as I continued through the week in a sort of dazy haze. Going to bed at 7.30pm and waking at 4am and not really thinking straight. Making a daily collage helps as I write the dates in sequence. Of yes it is the 11th today, oh its nearly the middle of November, oh that means its time again to start preparing to make my next years calendars.
Around this time each year I begin thinking about how I spent my time and what art I have made. Of course it is easy when I have made work to do with travel which is why my 2019 calendar has travel art I made in 2018.
So I want to make a calendar using postcard art again this year because it saves time when you already have a structure as a starting point. Fortunately for me I collected heaps of postcards in Iceland either of places I went to or places I might like to go to another time.
I always get at least 10 calendars printed because then I have all my Christmas presents or end of year give aways sorted in one go. So thats what I’m going to be starting soon and I’d love it if you want to join in making your own calendars - one gift makes many presents, it’s a real time saver. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll send you the details. Now its on to sort out my travel ephemera to make the calendar art. I’ve got lots to choose from!
