Activating Peace

Imagine a world of peace. On this upcoming 18th year of the lighting the Imagine Peace Tower in Iceland, I look back at my own peace activations. In 2020 I created a paper world of peace filled with green forests, clear blue waters and white polar icecaps. As I made it I imagined the activisms for peace throughout the world. Now more than ever activating peace is vital to us and our planet.

Chasing Ice

I returned from Greenland looking for ice in Iceland. I found it in the Perlan Museum in Reykjavik. Scientists and glaciologists in Iceland confidently predict that all of Iceland glaciers will disappear within the next 100 - 200 years. What will happen to Greenland?

Trouble in Paradise

In an Icelandic town known for its postcard beauty, trouble looms ahead. Still reeling from an avalanche nearly 18 months ago, the small town of Seydisfjördur is about to have industrial fish farms in the fjord. Locals are up in arms and the arty community is rallying.

Glacial Narratives

Art as activism sends a powerful message which can speak to the emotions of people. It is one way to bear witness to the events going on around me. I realised that the new work I am making in the studio is a direct result of watching a program, Glacial Narratives presented by Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Arts Centre in the Outer Hebrides.

Seeking my soul purpose

We are all here on planet earth, right now, for a purpose. Today is the solstice and I would have been in Iceland for it. The solstice is a time of powerful cosmological energy and I would have been joining a thousand women listening to my Icelandic coach Sigrun and a panel of international speakers talking about empowering women to rise up and build a business from their soul’s passion.

Losing, spending and saving time

Time has slipped me by and I find its time already to start thinking about next year and the calendars I have turned into a traditional Christmas present. I think about how I spent time this year, and what art I made. Then I make one calendar for myself then have multiple copies to give away. When thinking about time, its a real time saver for me.

Inspired by Iceland

When you are in the right place at the right time, the universe opens its arms. I was jumping with excitement when I saw the Northern Lights outside the Nes artist studio - a culmination of a fantastic month being inspired by Iceland.

Daring to be Courageous

Sometimes you have to dare to be courageous. That’s what happened this weekwhen I flew from Iceland to Zurich for a motivational business conference with my Icelandic coach, Sigrun who is on a mission to empower women to become business entrepreneurs.
