Vision Board (detail) - you can see I was preoccupied yesterday learning about how to be a good coach

Sometimes I feel like I never stop learning. This week has been a huge learning curve for me as I launched my first ever four week online creativity course Activate Your Creative Mojo (and keep it pumped).

I have run courses before but never with so many participants or technical things to take into consideration. Learning how to do a Zoom meeting and stream it live into the course Facebook group was a huge challenge and gave me quite a lot of low level anxiety.

However I have offered this creativity course because I myself am doing three online courses on developing my own creative business. Launching this course was part of a program called #Somba Summer School and there were 260 people all doing the same thing, launching their own courses at the same time. We chatted and shared issues and encouraged each other all under the guidance of the course host Sigrun Gudjonsdottir.

I realise I had huge issues around thinking of myself as a business entrepreneur. I have always had waged jobs on and off until this year when I decided that the time had come to launch into online courses.

So I had to learn how to construct a course, market it and then launch it. I have to say it has been huge! But I have also connected with so many people along the way who have supported me and encouraged me and given me fantastic advice.

I’ve also learnt how to make videos of some of my creative processes and speed them up, create a powerpoint presentation that is shared live and how to schedule a whole swag of email messages that send at the right time to the right people. Sometimes I even impress myself how far I have come in the 6 months!

So this year has been another intensive learning year for me. It’s a bit like 2016 when I did my Visual Arts Honours and had to learn the academic formats, footnoting, designing research questions and documenting my findings.

So this is why the Sunday blog post is a day late! But I am still showing up and today I’m feeling quite elated because my first week’s course delivery actually worked. Woo hoo…bring on more learnings.

This is the complete vision board I created -not my preoccupation with the clocks. Time was ticking!!
